Ready to dive into Season 10, but don't have endless hours to grind? This guide will help you reach level 60 efficiently while keeping the fun factor high. Whether you're a weekend warrior or someone who gets an hour here and there, these strategies will maximize your progress without burning you out.

Before You Start: Setting Yourself Up for Success

First things first – preparation is key. Head over to maxroll.gg's leveling tier list to grab a solid leveling build for your class. Trust me, having a roadmap makes all the difference between smooth sailing and frustrating deaths.

Once you've created your new seasonal character and logged in, take care of these quick housekeeping tasks:

Claim Your Renown Rewards: Open your map, hit "W", and collect any Renown rewards from previous seasons. Free stuff is always good stuff.

Get Your Starter Quest: Pop over to Kyovashad's courtyard and chat with Guard Boza. They'll give you a simple quest to cheer up the troops using the "cheer" emote. Easy herbs for crafting later!

A Diablo 4 game scene shows a character talking to Guard Boza. Options: "How fares the city guard?" and "Tell me of Kyovashad." Snowy setting.

Pick Up Your Mercenaries: Travel to the Den and recruit your mercenaries (see your leveling guide for recommendations). When in doubt, choose Subo as your main – he'll show enemies and minerals on your mini-map, which is incredibly helpful for efficient farming.

Equip a pet: Open up the Wardrobe and equip a pet. This little friend will make collecting your loot a lot easier, running around, and auto-picking up many items for you.

The Core Leveling Strategy

Here's the game plan that'll get you to 60 without wanting to smash your keyboard:

Phase 1: Follow the Seasonal Story (Levels 1-50)

Start on Normal difficulty and dive into the seasonal questline. This is your bread and butter for the early levels. The story naturally guides you through content while introducing you to Season 10's mechanics.

Pro tip: Sometimes the questline will ask you to earn seasonal currency or reputation. When this happens, knock out the next steps in this guide, then circle back to continue the story.

Phase 2: Get Your First Nightmare Sigil

If you haven't snagged a Nightmare Sigil from the seasonal content, complete Tree of Whisper events until you have enough Grim Favors for a turn in. The reward chest guarantees a Nightmare Sigil, which unlocks the next phase.

Phase 3: Nightmare Dungeons (Levels 15-50)

This is where the real XP gains happen. Focus on Nightmare Dungeons that either:

  • Have Tree of Whisper events tied to them (now clearly marked on the sigil)

  • Feature the "Forgotten Wisdom" affix for bonus experience

Got too many sigils piling up? Salvage extras for Sigil Powder, then craft new ones, hoping for those sweet Whisper events or Forgotten Wisdom affixes.

Phase 4: Stronghold Sprint (Levels 50-60)

At level 50, switch gears to Strongholds. These bad boys award massive XP chunks for completion. Important: If you bumped up the difficulty earlier, drop back to Normal here. Strongholds give the same XP regardless of difficulty, so why make it harder on yourself?

Level Milestones: Things to Do Along the Way

Level 10 - Elixir Time: Visit the Alchemist in Kyovashad and craft elixirs. While stats matter, the main prize is that XP bonus. Keep an elixir active from now on – it's free experience!

Level 15 (25 for Necromancers) - Class Quest: Complete your class quest if it hasn't auto-completed from previous seasons. Sometimes logging out and back in triggers the auto-completion.

Level 20 - Aspect Hunt: Check your build guide for essential Legendary Aspects that come from dungeon completions. Knock these out now while you're still in the leveling phase.

Level 25 - Imprinting Power: Head to the Occultist and imprint your most important Legendary Aspects onto jewelry. Don't stress about constantly upgrading – better to have lower-level jewelry with the right aspects than higher-level gear without them.

Level 50 - Incense Upgrade: Back to the Alchemist for incense crafting. Like elixirs, the XP boost is the main attraction. Keep this buff rolling alongside your elixir.

Throughout your journey, prioritize weapon upgrades above all else – they provide the biggest power spikes and keep your kill speed high.

What About Difficulty?

Here's the thing about cranking up difficulty while leveling: don't get seduced by those higher XP numbers if they're slowing down your kills. The math is simple – if it takes you noticeably longer to clear enemies, the XP bonus isn't worth it.

Staying on Normal all the way to 60 is perfectly fine if it keeps your kill speed optimal. Only bump difficulty if you get an amazing drop or your build becomes ridiculously overpowered.

You've Hit 60 – Now What?

Congratulations! But the journey's not over:

  1. Gear Up to 750: Farm a complete set of item level 750 gear

  2. Optimize Everything: Temper and enchant according to your build guide's endgame transition section

  3. Torment Time: You should now be ready for Torment I difficulty

  4. Pick Your Endgame Path: Head to maxroll.gg's endgame tier list and start working toward your chosen build

The Most Important Rule

Look, I could tell you about the absolute fastest leveling method (spoiler: it's replaying the Vessel of Hatred campaign), but here's the truth – as a casual player, your number one priority should always be having fun.

If this guide starts feeling like work instead of play, step away from it. Do what you enjoy. Run around exploring, try weird builds, chase down side quests that catch your interest. Diablo 4 is meant to be enjoyed, and you'll always level faster when you're actually having a good time.

The endgame will still be there when you get to level 60, whether it takes you a weekend or a few weeks. Play at your pace, follow what feels fun, and remember – it's about the journey, not just the destination.

Happy hunting, and may your loot be legendary!
